Citizens of 74 countries can enter Japan without a visa. These include the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and EU member states. In Asia, Thailand and Indonesia also allow visa-free entry, although the stay in Thailand is limited to 15 days.
Visas are required for countries such as China, Russia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
Furthermore, a work visa is always required if you intend to earn an income or stay for more than 90 days.
