去年からMID SUNDAYがなくなりました。MIDSUNDAY？って知っていますか？
2年前までウインブルドンは中日の日曜日をMID SUNDAYと言ってお休みにしてました。安息日であるのと、芝生のダメージを回復させる為、お休みにしていました。
ウインブルドン130数年年の歴史でMid Sundayに試合をしたのは4回しかありません。私がいた2004年も雨が多く試合が消化できないので、試合がありました。
この日は1枚も予約チケットを売ってないないので、並べばセンターコートにも入れました。ただし、写真の通りすごい人だかり、7時に家を出て車を置いてもうこの列。ここではもうセンターコートは諦めましたが、ラッキーなことにセンターコートに入ることができました。ミッドサンデーはもうないので、このような行列を見ることはできません。

Do you know what MID SUNDAY is?
Until 2021, Wimbledon used to close on the middle day, Sunday, called MID SUNDAY. It was closed because it was the Sabbath and to allow the grass to recover from the damage.
Only four times in Wimbledon’s around 130 years history had matches been played on Mid Sunday. When I was living near Wimbledon in2004, luckily we had matches on Mid Sunday, because there was too much rain to digest the matches.
Initially championship had never sold reserved tickets for Mid Sunday before, every sheets are open. So we could get tickets into the centre court luckily. As you can see from the picture, there was a huge crowd, I left my house at 7am, and already there was this long and long queue. Here I gave up on Centre Court already, but luckily I was able to get into Centre Court.
Mid-Sunday is no more, so you won’t see queues like this and can’t get luck.
