シンガポールに久々に行ってきました。昔住んでた時に聞いた面白い話を連続で書いてみます。
シンガポールと言えばショッピング街、オーチャード通りは有名ですよね。ブランドショップやホテルがいっぱいあり楽しみな所ですね。
で、日本人は必ず狙われています。
日本人を見ると「偽物時計はいらない？」と声を掛けられます。
すごいのが偽物時計と最初からいうことと、日本語で声をかけてきます。
それは向こうがあなたが日本人であることを認識しているからです。理由はわかりませんし、どう判断しているかわかりませんが、彼らにはあなたが中国人や韓国人でなく日本人であることがわかるのです。
でも、面白いのは2，3年住むと、声を掛けられなくなります。
貴方はしっかりシンガポール人に変わっているのです。
I’m going to write a series of unique stories I heard when I used to live there.
Singapore is famous for its shopping street, Orchard Road. It is a fun place with lots of brand-name shops and hotels.
Japanese people are always targeted.
When they see Japanese people, they ask, “Don’t you want a fake watch?”
It is unique for them to say it is a fake watch from the very beginning and
they speak to you in Japanese.
This is because they know you are Japanese. I don’t know why and they don’t know how to judge you, but they know that you are Japanese and not Chinese or Korean.
But it is very unique they never ask to you after living in Singapore for a couple of years.
Congratulation you are already a Singaporean.
