あけましておめでとうございます。
新年もあわただしく
初日の出を見て、新年のお参り、そして、お節、お雑煮をいただきました。
年末には年賀状（EMAIL用）を作成し、家の大掃除、今年は全部の床拭き、お節の準備をしました。めずらしい蘭の購入もしました。
最近はお節を買うようになりましたが、まだいくつか家で作っています。いくつ作ったでしょう？

The New Year began in a flurry of activity:
I watched the first sunrise, paid my New Year’s respects at the shrine, and enjoyed the osechi, New Year’s food.
At year’s end, I prepared New Year’s cards (for email), did a whole house clean – this year including hand mopping all the floors – and made preparations for the osechi.
Though I’ve started buying some osechi dishes lately, I still make several at home. How many did I make this time?
I also purchased a rare orchid.
