I’ve heard that the number of foreign visitors to Japan has recently exceeded 40 million a year – that’s wonderful news.
With these visitors in mind, I’m going to list the top 10 things to bear in mind before entering the country.

No. 1: Obtain a valid passport
It may seem obvious, but a passport is absolutely essential. You can enter Japan as long as your passport is valid until the day of your departure.
Many other Asian countries will not allow entry unless your passport is valid for at least six months from the date of entry. Even when travelling from Japan, you may be prevented from boarding a flight if your passport is due to expire within six months.
I suppose Asian countries are trying to prevent people from staying for long periods without a passport and without authorisation.

当たり前のように思えるかもしれませんが、パスポートは絶対に欠かせません。出国日まで有効なパスポートがあれば、日本に入国できます。
他の多くのアジア諸国では、入国日から少なくとも6ヶ月間有効なパスポートがないと入国を許可されません。日本から出国する場合でも、パスポートの有効期限が6ヶ月以内に切れる場合は、搭乗を拒否される可能性があります。
おそらくアジア諸国は、パスポートや許可なしに長期滞在する人を防ごうとしているのでしょう。
